The biggest European final football game with hundreds of millions of supporters worldwide, Champions League final showdown clash between Juventus and Real Madrid is over. We had the pleasure to watch a great game between two of the stronger and historical football clubs worldwide fighting for the most wanted Cup in Europe. In Millennium Stadium of Wales, Juventus didn’t achieve to overcome its demon, while Real Madrid achieved to defend its trophy in UEFA Champions League era holding a record of 12 European titles.

Taking as keywords RealMadrid, Juventus, Final2017, Champions League, adding their official social media as owned media and use Mentionlytics as our web & social media monitoring tool one week before the big final, we found draw as outcome of the battle in the digital world .

One thing is for sure! This match was a hot topic worldwide with hundreds of millions of mentions for a couple of days. Using again our new feature “keyword cloud” for keywords and hashtags we managed to create an overall view for the teams a few days after the final. We only then realized that as in the real world also in the digital world the winner is Real Madrid!
